Madge Marie Royal, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on May 8, 2015.  She is survived by her husband, Flemming Fuller Royal, MD, HMD, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and four children: Daniel Royal (wife Cheryl), Michael Royal (wife Maralea), Allison Olson (husband Greg) and Kimberly Royal, 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Marie, daughter of Elbert Eli and Irene Bell (Worley) Snipes, is also survived by her sister, Jean Pittman. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, McKay Royal.

Marie graduated Valedictorian of her 1955 class at Clayton High School and received her R.N. degree from North Carolina Baptist Hospital Nursing School in 1958.  She and Fuller met in September 1956 in the cafeteria shared by students of the nursing school and Bowman Gray Medical School (Wake Forest College).  Both describe their first meeting as: “Love at first sight.”  They were married on July 28, 1957, and enjoyed nearly 58 years together as husband and wife.  Fuller wrote the following about Marie in his personal journal on December 14, 1957, less than five months into their marriage, read to Marie for the first time in April 2015:

Marie, you have made me very happy in my new married life.  I shall always love and adore you as long as I live.  God certainly has blessed me richly.  How can I ever repay Him for giving me such a wonderful wife?  Everything that I ever am, you, Marie, will be what made me that.

Those sweet, heartfelt poetic and prophetic words remain true today, nearly 58 years later.

Fuller and Marie have been members of the LDS Church since March 1963.  Their family was sealed in the Oakland Temple in June 1969.  Marie had a burning testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and His wonderful Plan of Happiness.  She walked through life in faith with Fuller, together leading their children to harvest the light of Christ.  Marie was greatly admired by many.  She will be sorely missed until we meet again at that grand reunion on the other side of the veil.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS stake center located at 7670 So. Bruce St., Las Vegas, Nevada 89123 on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 am, with a viewing at 10:00 am.  A viewing will also be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Palm Mortuary, located at 7600 So. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the LDS Church general missionary fund to help support the full time missionary effort.  Donations can be made online at: https://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/missionary.html.
